Everyone knows we were expecting snow. Well, my husband got up at 4:30am to see if we needed to get going earlier than normal..."no, snow"...back to bed for all of us. 5:00am...get JMS up, time to go. 5:05am...everyone's in the truck (that is supposed to be) and off they go. 5:11am...back in the house comes "dada" and JMS. "Truck wheel broken," JMS says. "I've got a flat tire."
5am...pretty dark outside, my husband begins to change the tire. Meanwhile, I'm entertaining JMS with waffles, apple slices, milk and Sesame Street. Occassionally, I call outside...doing all right? Need some coffee? How about a hat? More lighting? 6:00am..."I broke the handle to the jack." So, we collectively dig the one out of my car. (another comment....keep reading)
6:30am...okay, we think they're ready to go. What now you ask? The truck will not start...lights were on too long...b/c it was dark outside. Now, I'm attempting to maneuver my car out of the garage and angle it so that I can help jump the truck. By 6:45am...we're both spent...and they are on their way to the babysitters and work.
So the other comment. Why the heck do car/truck companies place the jack and jack handles etc underneath the passenger back seats??? This required us to take car seats out...and can you imagine if this happened on the side of the road and you have the kids inside the car? What are they thinking?
Oh...and to cap it all off...it started snowing at 5:15am!!!
