Preacher got it Right!

"Acts 8 starting in verse 26.

26 As for Philip, an angel of the Lord said to him, "Go south F38 down the desert road that runs from Jerusalem to Gaza." 27 So he did,

You see, God has an annoying habit of only giving us part of the information we need. And God does it in a JIT (just in time) fashion. Don't think for a moment that God is going to give you all the answers up front. It didn't work that way for Moses, or David, or even Philip in this case. Often, God knows we wouldn't have the courage to do what is necessary if we knew in advance."

So, this was a portion of the message we heard at Sunday worship...and I thought...hmmm, this is applicable, I've only been told "report to the store across town." I guess its true, if I'd known the whole picture I wouldn't have shown up!

I'm going to be professional and not gab about the details on my blog; however, please pray for me. This position/not-so position has the possibility of derailing my career very quickly. I hate office politics!

Job Update

Many of you have been asking about my next assignment. I believe I last left you all knowing that I was "promotable." I have to meet one more person in the "chain of command" and then I will hopefully be given my own store to manage.

Well...not to leave you all hanging, but there had not been much news to report on this matter until recently. Of course, we had rumors, and possibilities...but nothing I'd wanted to pass on because it changes so frequently.

So, as of today, I am officially finished with my time as a sales floor manager in my current store here in KY. On Monday, I report to the store across town (still in KY) as "support help." Let me give you some background information on the store I am going to...they have had 4 executives either fired or quit in the past 3 months!!! Now, 4 of the seven executives in the store are BRAND new managers...cherry Lieutenants for my military followers....graduated from college in MAY 2009 did 7 weeks of training and ta-da are "knighted" assistant managers!!! This is a super scary thought. If I had to explain my temporary assignment, it is like an executive officer...I'm not the store manager, but I'm her right hand person with more job knowledge than any of her other minions. I am going to be responsible for mentoring these newbies, and keeping the sales floor full of product and looking the way it should. I did a little recon last night and it is very obvious that these guys just don't even know what wrong looks like, so it is understandably hard for them to fix things.

So, say a prayer for my new although temporary position across town. :)

Big Brother Anyone???

Okay...I confess to my obsession with reality television...

"So You Think You Can Dance" just wrapped up and I was happy to see my choice of dancers win. Now we are watching Big Brother...and Jessie just got put out of the house!!! Maybe he will ask Julie if he can come back for a third season.

And, speaking of Julie...did you see her dress last night? Okay, I've been prego...that dress was not necessary! Let me see if I can find a picture of it...

Hopefully you can see her black dress...polka dots...she was made to look much bigger than she truly is...poor thing.

Fun Day in the Sun

Hopefully mom doesn't mind me posting this photo of her. But, it shows off her great new hair color, and it affirms the fact that she is emotionally better and ready for a new school year. She will be teaching 6th and 7th graders...best wishes.

While we (mom and I) were sunning ourselves, JMS was running around in the sprinkler and squirting us with the squirt guns. We managed to get a squirt or two back at him. He was a good shot, and mastered filling them up.
Here is our sunflower(s). We bought one of those dollar dirt and seed cups at Lowe's intended for kids...and three months later, this was the result. They are really fun to look at, but for some reason they do not look like the sunflowers that I was expecting to see. You know...the big pie pan type with little petals and lots of seeds...
See the green lady bug on it...
And lastly, I bought this frog pot on clearance at the Garden Ridge...my husband gave me the glare....which I translated to "woman what the h#$% is that?" when I walked in the door with it. But, it is really making my impatiens (I stand corrected...petunias...thank you Kim) look great!

Let's take a look at the past...

So...I want to know what my readers were caught with on their bookbags and lunchboxes when they were kids....

Me...I had the BK Logo on my canvas satchel when I was in Kindergarden...

and PINK PANTHER on my metal lunch box. I was styling...especially with my braided pig tails...I'll have to find pictures. Classic, I tell you!

BTS

So everyone else is posting cool summer day trip photos, family fun events, and such on their blogs...and I am at the store refilling bins with school supplies. Yes, it is that time of year here in KY. Kids, school starts on 8/12 and we have been busy at the store.

For the second year in a row we have received more pink pencil boxes than blue....not enough graph paper...and too many of those stretchy cloth book covers. Fortunately, I think as a company we did a better job in forecasting the number of notebooks this year, and we actually have a variety of clear/see-through book bags.

Couple things I haven't seen in a while that we used to get as kids...remember the cardboard flip top pencil boxes...the fat crayons...the metal lunch boxes...and the tubs of paste. Oh...those were the days. :) Haha...I sound like I'm old.
