Let's take a look at the past...

So...I want to know what my readers were caught with on their bookbags and lunchboxes when they were kids....

Me...I had the BK Logo on my canvas satchel when I was in Kindergarden...

and PINK PANTHER on my metal lunch box. I was styling...especially with my braided pig tails...I'll have to find pictures. Classic, I tell you!

BTS

So everyone else is posting cool summer day trip photos, family fun events, and such on their blogs...and I am at the store refilling bins with school supplies. Yes, it is that time of year here in KY. Kids, school starts on 8/12 and we have been busy at the store.

For the second year in a row we have received more pink pencil boxes than blue....not enough graph paper...and too many of those stretchy cloth book covers. Fortunately, I think as a company we did a better job in forecasting the number of notebooks this year, and we actually have a variety of clear/see-through book bags.

Couple things I haven't seen in a while that we used to get as kids...remember the cardboard flip top pencil boxes...the fat crayons...the metal lunch boxes...and the tubs of paste. Oh...those were the days. :) Haha...I sound like I'm old.

Peach Pie

So, today, mom came down and spent the day with me and JMS. We took JMS to get his hair cut, ran a few errands, got his picture taken, and made a peach pie. I shared the pictures with family and friends on email, but cannot put them on here b/c they are professional and protected by copy write laws. He had so much fun with the photographer posing him and tickling him and making him smile and giggle. He is such a "ham."

However, I can share our newly discovered Peach Pie Recipe...mom and dad visited my brother and his family last week and brought home 30 lbs of Georgia peaches...and many good stories of how their family is doing.

You will need:
10 medium peaches, peeled-pitted-sliced
1/3 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
2 pre-made 9 inch pastry pie dough pieces

1. Mix and chop the flour, sugar, and butter.
2. Place 1 pie crust in the bottom of your pie dish. Alternate layering the peaches and the flour mixture.
3. Top the peach filling with the 2nd pie crust. Cut air holes in the pie crust.
4. Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour at 350. Or until the crust is golden brown. Don't forget to place a cookie sheet under the pie because it will bubble and ooze.

If too soupy, increase the amount of flour.

Enjoy!!!

Babyzone Quiz

What's Your Animal Mothering Style? (click on this title)

As you can read...my answers correspond to types: elephant and badger.
I think I agree with this assessment of myself. I'd be interested to hear what other moms score.

2- BADGER – Badgers moms are especially strong mothers; they are keepers of the family schedule and expert disciplinarians. Very good at juggling the complexities of family life, badger moms strive to keep their children on a straight and narrow path.

4- ELEPHANT - Elephant moms are very independent and gifted when it comes to remembering all their family’s activities and events. They have a great knack for organization and are able to manage careers, keep their homes clean, get their kids to school on time, and look great through it all.

Anyone want to lay bets that Kim is evaluated as a COW??? Chik-fil-A anyone???
