Flowers "pop"

JMS will tell you his flowers have finally "popped." So I asked him if we could take a picture and he knew exactly what to do...he stood by them, sat with them...and said "cheese." Okay, so I'll admit he has been photographed quite a bit since he was born. Enjoy the flowers and check out the boy's haircut!

Bad Day....

Everyone knows we were expecting snow. Well, my husband got up at 4:30am to see if we needed to get going earlier than normal..."no, snow"...back to bed for all of us. 5:00am...get JMS up, time to go. 5:05am...everyone's in the truck (that is supposed to be) and off they go. 5:11am...back in the house comes "dada" and JMS. "Truck wheel broken," JMS says. "I've got a flat tire."

5am...pretty dark outside, my husband begins to change the tire. Meanwhile, I'm entertaining JMS with waffles, apple slices, milk and Sesame Street. Occassionally, I call outside...doing all right? Need some coffee? How about a hat? More lighting? 6:00am..."I broke the handle to the jack." So, we collectively dig the one out of my car. (another comment....keep reading)
6:30am...okay, we think they're ready to go. What now you ask? The truck will not start...lights were on too long...b/c it was dark outside. Now, I'm attempting to maneuver my car out of the garage and angle it so that I can help jump the truck. By 6:45am...we're both spent...and they are on their way to the babysitters and work.

So the other comment. Why the heck do car/truck companies place the jack and jack handles etc underneath the passenger back seats??? This required us to take car seats out...and can you imagine if this happened on the side of the road and you have the kids inside the car? What are they thinking?

Oh...and to cap it all off...it started snowing at 5:15am!!!

Guest Assistance

Ok...so the weather must have turned nice because all I heard all day was "guest needs assistance in seasonal"...over and over and over again! I haven't done a tribute in a while to what the customers are looking for in our store so here it goes:

tiki torch oil...also known as lamp oil is a seasonal item, so if you have an oil lamp get the product now while it is available.
humidifier filters...so we sold all of you humidifiers about two months ago...we carry them seasonally...and now you need filters and we don't have any. Next year buy enough filters for the whole year if you buy a humdifier.
16" girls bikes, not 20", 16"
toddler crayons
flower pots
felt stickers to put under furniture legs
contact paper....this is usually found around kitchen organization stuff.
mouse traps
carpet cleaner
clorox carpet cleaner sticks...um, never seen them.
baby registry stuff that is "online only"...hmmm, maybe that's why you can't find it; you think?
curtains
little girl pajamas that button down the front...must button (like old lady pajamas...well it was the grandma looking for the granddaughter)
ladies slips...big lady slips...b/c those that fit women like myself just won't work.
shoe department
luggage department
pets department
tall coat racks...folks, we don't carry these.
cedar chips for storage rooms
folding camping chairs
Easter grass
Easter eggs
Easter candy...someone actually asked if we had Easter candy...ha ha...can I sell you a whole pallet's worth?

Thank you for shopping with us.

And I cried...and cried...and cried some more

I cried when I read the book, Marley and Me...and I cried even harder watching the movie. They did a really nice job. JMS wanted to know what was wrong with me b/c I was crying so hard. Then he started saying, "bad bad dog" to Marley.

Twilight

To clarify...Yes, I did enjoy watching the movie Twilight. I had issues with the casting (I didn't picture some of the characters as they filled the roles), but besides that I thought it was well done. I loved the baseball scene!

Born In Trilogy

I finished the third book in the trilogy today! If you are a "stay at home mom" or a "need more fantasy" type of person....you'll truly enjoy this story. Each story is about a different lady and how she is connected to two other ladies...and the three ladies are linked in each story, so the author doesn't waste time re-introducing the characters in each book. They average about 350 pages, in my opinion, real page turners...not for the suspense in a scary fashion, but suspense in a romantic fashion. The only downside is that they drink a lot of tea and eat a lot of cakes...well, it is based in Ireland. So, I found myself thinking of snacks quite often.
